I'm very excited about being able to offer this fantastic sculpture online!
This collaborative piece was created by Stephanie Sersich & myself in 2007. This was one of our first large collaborative projects in the non-wearable format. The piece went on to serve as the inspiration for the 2008 International Society of Glass Beadmakers juried exhibition "Out of the Box: Pushing the Boundaries of the Glass Bead". Stephanie & I served as jurors for the exhibition.
As well as being the inspiration for the exhibit it also traveled with the 28 other works to serve as a compliment to our juror statements. It was displayed in the following galleries:
Ohio Glass Museum
Lancaster, OH
Bead and Button Show
Sponsored in part by The SoftFlex Company
Milwaukee, WI
Frank Bette Center for the Arts.
Alameda, CA
Houston Center for Contemporary Craft
Houston, TX
The piece is also featured in the exhibition catalog along with mine & Stephanie's juror statements. A signed copy of the catalog will be included with the sculpture.
The piece is constructed of handmade glass components, ceramics, fabric, fiber, and wood. It is covered in a custom made lucite box. It is ready to be hung on the wall or displayed on a mantel or shelf.
The piece measures 6" high x 6" long x 3" deep.
This is truly a one of a kind piece!
